Can Switched on Schoolhouse be reused?
The Switched-On Schoolhouse license and application allows up to five students to take the same course. So yes, the courses you’re using with your oldest now can be reused with your younger children in the future.
Why is switched on Schoolhouse discontinued?
Additional notes about the June 2021 discontinued version: Due to changes with Microsoft and Adobe, limited technical support is only available for this version of SOS. That support is available until June 2022. We cannot fix content errors and missing curriculum elements.
Can Switched on Schoolhouse be resold?
When you buy the Switched-on-Schoolhouse curriculum, you’re not supposed to resell it (although some people do). You are allowed to gift it once. This means you can give it away free to another person, but you can’t sell it.

Monarch is a well-rounded option for homeschooling; and having records kept for all 5 subjects online is great for me. It is like having my own personal homeschool assistant. Your students can be at different grade levels for different subjects. Our children all learn differently and at different paces.
Is Switched on Schoolhouse accredited?
A: No, only an educational institution can be accredited. Curriculum alone cannot be accredited; it can only be accredited as part of an institution’s program. In other words, because Monarch, Switched-On Schoolhouse, LIFEPAC, and Horizons are not schools, they cannot be accredited.
Can Switched on Schoolhouse be used on a Mac?
No, as of this day 8-15-2015 no Switched on Schoolhouse curriculum are compatible with a Mac computer.
Is Monarch the same as Switched on Schoolhouse?
SOS runs only on Windows systems. Monarch will run on computers with either Windows or Mac systems. SOS offers more features than Monarch although these may or may not be important to you. In SOS, once you’ve got one student and his or her courses set up, it is easy to add additional courses and students.
